Floating flower is one of traditional design seen on Japanese artifact such as makie picture, washi paper and kimono cloth.

Tombodama - "glass beads" in English - has its long history. It's originated in Mesopotamia. It was made for the purpose of exorcism and only high and noble people could have them.

t comes in a stylish glass tube. Very best for the special present.
In Japan, They were imported from Netherlands in the Edo era and became famous. Because this glass bead looks like a dragonfly's ("Tombo" in Japanese) eye, people started to call it "Tombodama". ("dama" means "ball")

All hand-made by Japanese professional artisan. Each one has its own beauty. Because it is made one by one, each one is slightly different from the picture.
How to make Tombobada??

1. Melt down the glass rod and roll up it with the iron-core to make unique pattern. (This process makes the beauty of Tombodama!)

2.Make it in a good shape by heating and rolling over and over.
