Tombodama - "glass beads" in English - has its long history. It's originated in Mesopotamia. It was made for the purpose of exorcism and only high and noble people could have them. It comes in a stylish glass tube. Very best for the special present.
In Japan, They were imported from Netherlands in the Edo era and became famous. Because this glass bead looks like a dragonfly's ("Tombo" in Japanese) eye, people started to call it "Tombodama". ("dama" means "ball") All hand-made by Japanese professional artisan. Each one has its own beauty. Because it is made one by one, each one is slightly different from the picture.

How to make Tombobada??
